Top-class Japanese engineered and manufactured shock leader. YGK makes some of the best nylon leaders in the world and are extremely popular among the Japanese GT fishermen. Approximately 20 times more abrasion resistant than normal nylon while still allowing for superior knot strength and shock absorbing qualities. Aproximately 5-8% thinner than most other name brand nylon leaders. Will not slip when utilizing properly tied FG or PR knots for spectra to mono connections.

We highly recommend a short section of this leader above your braid or spectra line. Modern high quality spectra line is not very wear resistant and also cannot withstand the hard hook ups from tough pelagics so a short section of this shock leader will not only provide some 'shock absorbing' but also the harder outer coat prevents toothy varieties from wearing through your spectra. Being transparent, this leader gives you that edge with shy fish. Especially when fishing in extremely clear water conditions.
