Prohunter Béito SW Original Sinking Minnow
This amazing Sinking Minnow by Prohunter is the culmination of years of testing and proofing of what works in a lure. Nothing compares to it's castability, action and fish producing qualities. These bibbed lures are in every way similar to the bibless versions in construction and fish catchability, with the exception of having a bib. These lures have a tight wobble and a moderate side to side sweep on the retrieve. Allowing for an easier and smooth retrieve due to the moderate resistance in the water. Perfect for the more aggressive and faster moving pelagics like tuna, mahi-mahi and mackerel where a faster retrieve is preferred. Previously unavailable in the western hemisphere, we are proud to be the North and South American distributor for these lures from Prohunter.
Extensively tested all over the world with all manner of fish species, this lure's superior castability has no equal. The weight distribution and size profile allows it be cast extremely well even in the stiffest wind with bait fish like swimming action and unparalleled stability. Béito's weight distribution design minimizes tumbling during casts making for long and effortless distances. Cast, countdown to where the fish are and reel. Fast or slow, with jerks or without. Tight wobble action attracts aggressive strikes. A typical retrieve scenario would be a cast, followed by a countdown to the appropriate depth, a rod down steady retrieve, mid retrieve pause with a optional countdown, resume retrieve. Vary your retrieve rate and countdown pause duration depending on species and depth of water. Most strikes will occur after the pause when retrieve resumes. We have found that most pelagics will be able to chase down a lure no matter how fast you are retrieving. Most aggressive strikes are from retrieving this lure as fast as you can. Watch the video in the video segment for a good example how it's done.
This lure works particularly well when the fish are shy later in the day when top water lures are not working as well. Starting and ending the day with this lure could be considered 'cheating' by conventional popping purists. They are very easy to work as they are very streamlined so do not create a lot of resistance in the water and are not as tiring to fish with. We all know how exhausting working with poppers can be. Great for beginners as it builds your confidence very quickly. This lure is so versatile that you can work it like a surface iron, as a conventional stick bait or simply as a swimming minnow. You can even troll with it up to about 8-10 knots. It's density and high rate of sink allows you to work very deep offshore schools of fish that you would otherwise not be able to with conventional minnow type baits. If you're still not convinced, watch the videos (link to the left of the page). We stand by this product and we are so confident in this lure that we'll give you your money back if you are not satisfied.
Béito Original 'Full Connect' through wire construction comes with superior saltwater quality VMC trebles and split rings will handle GT's, Cuberas and other tough species with ease. They are built saltwater strong. If the fish are there, this lure will get punished severely so we do recommend getting some spare hooks and rings as the lure will often out last the hooks. While you're at it get yourself an extra lure as you'll regret it if you lose it and don't have a spare. All lures are rigged and ready to go with VMC Extra Strong Trebles and highest quality split rings.
** Note: 03-Silver Face Off has 'Lumo' paint that will be luminous when exposed to light. It also has a different finish on each side.

Ross ScrobleDec 12, 2018, 14:39After losing my popper to a Cubera Snapper, I opened up the case of lures that I had packed for my 4 day Puerto Vallarta trip. I picked up the brand new 170mm ProHunter Beito SW Original Sinking Minnow that I had ordered earlier in the year, in Blue. The weight felt great, the lip seemed to be a nice size for not diving too deep, so I tied to my leader as we started to make our way to the first island. Upon waking up the following morning, the jig bite was moderate before sunrise. Suddenly I saw a mahi cruise through the lights from our boat, so I put my jigging stick down and grabbed my popping setup. I took a walk or two around the boat, hoping I could sight cast. By this time, the sun was coming up so I went for a blind cast from the bow. I pulled on the rod after winding in some slack and immediately felt the action of the lure, so I cranked, pulled again and BOOM the mahi slammed it. Over the next 10 casts and 45 minutes I had caught half a dozen skipjacks (one of which was used to catch a 50lb Cubera), a 40lb yellowfin, a Bigeye Jack and lastly, a 100lb yellowfin that reminded me of the fact that I was using 50lb leader. I was heartbroken as the tuna swam away with that Beito in its mouth. With only 45 minutes of use, it had more teeth marks in it than all of my old lures. My friend John even said "Damn... it was just starting to look cool, too!"
After this experience, it became evident that I will ALWAYS have several of these Sinkng Minnows in my arsenal, and share them with friends. It is rare that I get truly excited about a certain piece of tackle, and even more rare for the crew and several professional anglers asking what lure I'm using as they fail to hook up.
All weights do not include weight of supplied rigging.
